About GCM

Meridian International Hotel School, one of Australia’s premier hotel schools, is an accredited institution with approval to deliver a range of internationally respected and recognised qualifications – Certificate III and Certificate IV in Hospitality, and Diploma of Hospitality Management with majors in Operations, Patisserie or Commercial Cookery.

New Sydney Campus
The School’s Sydney campus opened its doors to new students in mid-February and occupies the original Heritage listed Readers Digest building.

Following its multi-million dollar renovation, the Sydney School covers an area of 7,000 square metres and boasts four commercial grade training kitchens costing in excess of $2 million, a restaurant, a café, over 50 classrooms and a rooftop garden to fit at least 1,500 students. This is in addition to the School’s Melbourne campus, which has 2,000 enrolled students and is located in the centre of Melbourne opposite Federation Square.

According to recent data from Australian Education International (AEI), demand for hospitality has increased exponentially over the last year with over 65 percent growth. There are now over 30,000 international students studying hospitality in Australia, becoming the largest field in the Vocational Education and Training sector.

Strong Industry Links and Skilled Workforce
Students at Meridian International Hotel School are given hands-on experience in the School’s cafés, restaurants and bars with industry standard equipment as part of their course. Through the Industry Placement Service (IPO), students are given assistance in preparing employment profiles and portfolios, writing cover letters, completing job applications and developing interview skills to successfully find employment in the hospitality industry.
